Around the year 2000 the APF merged with other member organisations to form Confor and the full name of the Association disappeared, however, most people in the industry referred to the Exhibition as The APF so we kept the initials as our trading name and, at the same time, formed a separate limited company, The APF International Forest Machinery Exhibition Ltd, whose sole shareholder is Confor. This was to keep the trading nature of the exhibition separate to the representative role of Confor.
Confor provides the industry with a strong voice in the market place and at all levels of government – international, UK, country and local.
Confor is first and foremost a members organisation, funded by and accountable to businesses in the industry. Its aim is to promote the market for wood, forest products and forest services, and to help improve the industry’s competiveness.
Confor aims to build the market for timber, timber products and forest services, create a supportive policy environment for the forest industries and to help members become more competitive and successful. The APF Exhibition is a wholly owned subsidiary of Confor.
Confor Trade members get discounted rates for APF Exhibition stands and Confor individual members get free access to the show.
